Simon Villarreal is a composer, music producer, and sound designer for media who is originally from Colombia and currently based in Miami, Florida. He has done sound design for over 16 TV shows in Latin America, many of which were produced by major companies such as Netflix, Sony Pictures Television, and Blim. Examples of his work include La Reina del Flow, Rosario Tijeras 2, María Magdalena, La Guzman, and El Barón, among others. Additionally, Simon has composed music for various companies, including Direct TV, Mr. Tea, Alpina, and Mastercard.
Simon holds a master's degree in Media Scoring and Production from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, where he studied under the guidance of Grammy and two-time Emmy award-winning composer Carlos Rafael Rivera. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Production from Los Andes University in Bogota, Colombia, where he studied under music producer Alejandro Collazos, two-time Latin Grammy-winning music producer Ernesto Santos, and Latin Grammy-winning mastering engineer Carlos Arturo Silva.
Simon's approach to music composition is not only based on his musical knowledge but also on his deep appreciation for cinema. As a true cinephile, he understands the craft of storytelling behind film, and having worked as both a sound designer and film composer, he has a comprehensive understanding of the role of sound in cinema. This expertise allows him to communicate effectively with directors, producers, and showrunners.
Simon actively combines his career in media scoring and sound design, with a strong focus on education. He is involved in developing the Media Scoring Foundations course at the Frost School of Music and also contributes as an Assistant Professor of Music Production at Florida Memorial University, emphasizing his dedication to guiding emerging talent in the industry.

Constantly exploring new boundaries and experimenting with different ways of expressing himself through sound, his ultimate goal is to further develop his musical vision and collaborate with others in continuing the art of film scoring and music production.
